Video of a Child Getting Sponsored! Woohoo!
Here is a great video that I opened in my RSS feeds this morning! It made my day. Look what Pastor Pete Wilson did with his family this week on “Family Night.” They sponsored a child through Compassion International! Apparently, the Compassion Bloggers’ recent trip to the Dominican Republic had such an affect upon them that they decided to sponsor a child for themselves.
Woohoo! I’m so thrilled for them. Just wait to see how this family will be affected by this relationship, not to mention the child in India (Sammy) whose life is forever changed with hope for his future. If your family would like to do the same, take a look at these children in need of sponsors, and then send me a video of your experience. I’ll be more than happy to post it for you.
Pete — I’ll be watching for updates, such as the 1st time a letter arrives from Sammy. I’m sure your family will (again) gather around the family couch to cuddle up and read the letters when they arrive. I hope you videotape the moment for all to enjoy. By the way, your kids are adorable! Perhaps you’d like to film the first letter writing TO Sammy. I’m sure that’ll be a hoot. Another theme for “Family Night?”

Lisa — I love your observations! Priceless!
I just discovered the mother’s blog too — where she shares about the same event:

This video is WONDERFUL! What a great idea to gather the entire family and make sponsorship a family decision. Thank you for sharing this.
I love little Gage’s thought process, BTW — what a practical thinker! — mulling over his personal contribution to the endeavor, (i.e. cooking skills and the toys he’ll be sending.) Too cute! Jett, Gage and Brewer are all so sweet.
Many prayers for the Wilson family and Sammy!!!
Thank you for making this available, it really did warm my heart.
Thanks for the encouragement. We’re super excited!
