God Became Man
A beam of light shone through the cloud, reached the ground upon
The Child Jesus – the Promised One, author of time
Composer of rhythm, reason, rhyme;
He Who holds Creation together; lay tiny, and helpless
A babe
His Presence, a token of His devotion to the Father’s plan
Condescended, Apprehended, entered this span
Of human frame; small wonder
Nature’s story, History’s Glory; this God became Man.
