New Hampshire

When Sarah and I left Quebec we made our way down through New Hampshire in order to stop to visit family members.  As in Vermont, we were looking for covered bridges on GPS and we found several.

We also made a stop at the former “Old Man of the Mountain,” which sadly was destroyed by weather conditions in 2003.  As you can see here, he famous profile is gone.

But someone had the bright idea to use poles like this to make the profile miraculously appear again, if you stand at the right spot for your height.

Well, we thought it was a corny way to deal with the tragedy but at least we could see how it used to look.

Finally, we made our way to my aunt and uncle’s home and were surprised to find that my cousins were also in town.  What a great evening we had together!  I had never seen my cousin’s kids before, so it was extra special to finally be able to give everyone a few hugs.
