Farewell Ollantaytambo

After our day at Machu Picchu it was now time to leave Ollantaytambo.  But first — we had Inca ruins to explore right here, too.  We found this man at the gate, playing beautiful music on his harp.IMG_5441

We’d had a tiny tour of the ruins the first night we arrived here (when we saw the Inca Chief), but now we would have more time to explore before Jorge arrived with our car to return to Cusco.

Here are the large ruins at Ollantaytambo (some photos were taken at night and others on the morning of our departure):

Finally it was time to say farewell to Ollantaytambo and head out for another day’s journey through the valley.

When we got back to our hostel, Jorge, our private taxi driver, was right there and ready to take us on more adventures!
